A real preferential Certificate of Origin, uploaded, resolved and filed on trade.gov.in. No cuts.

As is → to be

The same certificate, two very different days

Six stages stand between a shipment and a preferential CoO your buyer's customs will accept. Here is each one: done by hand, and done by RoBoCo with FDP Connect.

RoBoCo files a Certificate of Origin: a robotic arm lowers the shipment’s data into the trade.gov.in form while the filed certificate stands ready An isometric filing bay. A tray of scanned trade documents feeds a dashed paper trail up to RoBoCo, a robotic arm that lowers a glowing gold data chip into the eCoO form on a trade.gov.in terminal. The portal’s seven-step progress strip reads step seven of seven. Beside the terminal, the filed Certificate of Origin stands on a plinth bearing a gold seal marked “CoO FILED”, and a DSC sign-pod on the console front marks the human at the final click. trade.gov.in · eCoO RoBoCo · eCoO RUN RoBoCo STEP 7/7 YOU SIGN · DSC CoO FILED ✓ UPLOAD → FILED · 99 s GUARANTEED
1 Gather

Chase the paper

30–45 min

Invoice, packing list, BL and cost sheet arrive by email, often five documents stitched into one scan. Someone re-types them, line by line.

Upload once

seconds

OCR splits the stitched scan page by page, classifies each document and extracts every field into one shipment record. Nothing is re-keyed.

2 Resolve the rule

Guess the criterion

hours, or skipped

Which agreement? WO, CTC or RVC, at what threshold? The product-specific rules live in a several-hundred-page schedule, so most teams copy last quarter’s answer.

The engine resolves it

instant

The FTA is auto-detected from the trade route across 22 agreements. The origin engine tests the actual product-specific rule (RVC build-up or build-down, tariff shift at 2/4/6 digits, de-minimis, cumulation) and refuses to guess what it cannot compute.

3 Route it

Which office again?

trial & error

Preferential CoOs route to EIC, MPEDA or the Textiles Committee depending on HS chapter, plus the right regional and issuing office. Easy to get wrong, slow to discover.

Routed by HS chapter

automatic

Marine products to MPEDA, textiles to the Textiles Committee, everything else to EIC, with regional and issuing offices resolved automatically.

4 File it

Seven steps, ~50 fields

60–90 min

trade.gov.in asks for everything again: three bulk-upload spreadsheets built by hand, per-line preference criteria set one pencil-click at a time, an FX rate the portal may reject.

RoBoCo drives all 7 steps

99 s, guaranteed

It logs in on your machine, fills the form field by field, generates and uploads the three XLS files, sets each line’s preference criterion, converts currency at the live rate and picks exact ICEGATE port codes.

5 Submit

Submit and hope

days, if queried

An invoice-certificate mismatch, a wrong office or an invalid criterion means a query, a resubmission and a shipment waiting on paper.

Gated, then signed by you

one click

SCOMET and FTA pre-flight gates run before anything is charged, and filing unlocks only when every blocker is green. You type the captcha and sign with your own DSC or Aadhaar. Nothing submits without you.

6 Defend it

A PDF in an inbox

panic, later

When the buyer’s customs or an auditor queries the claim months later, the evidence is a folder of loose scans, if anyone can find it.

Proof attached, verifiable

always ready

Cost sheets and bill-of-materials stay linked to the certificate, and the issued CoO is cryptographically signed. Verifiable by anyone, with no login.

3–4 hours

per certificate, across portals, spreadsheets and inboxes, with the origin criterion often assumed, not proven

99 seconds

upload → filed on trade.gov.in, guaranteed. Resolved against the right rule, gated before it can go wrong, signed by you

Under the hood

Built like a compliance engine, not a macro

Every capability below ships in production inside FDP Connect. This is what runs between your upload and a filed certificate.

22 trade agreements, auto-picked

Every preferential agreement the portal lists (India-UK CETA, UAE CEPA, Australia ECTA, Japan & Korea CEPA, ASEAN, EFTA TEPA and more), auto-detected from origin and destination, newest agreement preferred.

An origin engine that won’t lie

RVC by build-up or build-down (FOB / CIF / EXW), tariff-shift at 2, 4 or 6 digits with de-minimis, cumulation across FTA partners. Fail-loud: it never fabricates a Wholly Obtained claim or defaults an RVC to 100%.

The right issuing authority

Preferential applications route to EIC, MPEDA or the Textiles Committee by HS chapter; non-preferential certificates go to your Chamber of Commerce. Offices resolve automatically, overridable per product.

Pre-flight gates before any charge

A hard SCOMET dual-use gate on every push, FTA criterion validation in warn or block mode, and a green-to-file readiness bar that stays locked until every blocker (agency, offices, vessel, criterion) is satisfied.

Files like your best operator

All 7 portal steps, the three bulk-upload XLS files, per-line preference criteria, live FX conversion and exact ICEGATE port codes. Filled field by field on trade.gov.in, in your own authenticated session.

A human at the final click

You type the captcha; you sign with DSC or Aadhaar e-Sign. RoBoCo never holds your credentials server-side, and a failed or cancelled job auto-refunds to your wallet.

Every preferential agreement the portal lists

  • India-UK CETA
  • India-UAE CEPA
  • India-Australia ECTA
  • India-Japan CEPA
  • India-Korea CEPA
  • ASEAN-India FTA
  • India-Singapore CECA
  • India-Malaysia CECA
  • India-Mauritius CECPA
  • India-Sri Lanka FTA

  • India-Mercosur PTA
  • India-Thailand EHS
  • India-EFTA TEPA
  • SAFTA
  • SAPTA
  • APTA
  • GSTP
  • GSP

Auto-detected from your trade route. The newest agreement wins, and non-preferential (chamber) certificates ride the same rails.

Beyond filing

FDP Connect keeps working after the certificate is issued

A preferential claim lives for years. The platform around RoBoCo makes sure it survives them.

CAROTAR 2020, importer-side

Form I’s 8-point origin checklist, run against the actual rule, with the 5-year retention clock tracked per shipment.

CETA proof validation

Origin declarations checked for the wrong form, a date before entry-into-force, expiry and URN format, before the UK border checks them for you.

Verifiable certificates

Every issued CoO is signed and anchored, so a bank, buyer or customs officer can verify it in 30 seconds with no login.

e-BRC to incentives

Realisation closes the FEMA window and unlocks RoDTEP, Drawback and GST refund waiting behind the same shipment record.

FAQ

Asked before every first filing

What is RoBoCo?

RoBoCo is the Certificate-of-Origin automation inside FDP Connect by automaxis. It files preferential and non-preferential CoOs on India’s eCoO portal (trade.gov.in) in your own authenticated browser session, filling all seven portal steps, bulk-upload spreadsheets and per-line preference criteria, with a human confirming the captcha and the final DSC/Aadhaar signature.

Does RoBoCo support preferential CoOs under the India-UK CETA?

Yes. The FTA registry covers the 21 preferential agreements the portal lists plus the India-UK CETA (in force 15 July 2026), and validates each line’s preference criterion against the agreement actually claimed, including CETA-specific checks like origin declarations dated before entry into force.

How long does a filing take?

From upload to a filed application on trade.gov.in is 99 seconds, guaranteed. The unedited run in the film above comes in even faster. The readiness engine and pre-flight gates do their work before filing, so the portal run is a formality, not a gamble.

Is it safe? Who actually signs?

You do. RoBoCo runs in your own browser session on your machine; you type the portal captcha and sign with your own DSC or Aadhaar e-Sign. SCOMET screening is enforced on every push, and a failed or cancelled job is auto-refunded.

Your first Certificate of Origin is on us.

Bring one real shipment to a 20-minute demo and watch RoBoCo resolve the rule, pass the gates and file it while you’re still on the call.
